Music at Stella Niagara
Over the past several years the music program at Stella Niagara has become quite diverse. In addition to providing General Music classroom instruction for all grades, Montessori through 8th grade, students may also elect to participate in ensembles such as chorus, band, and new this year, string club. For the first time at Stella Niagara several members of the band have elected to participate in the annual Niagara County Music Educators Association All-County Solo Festival on December 12th at North Park Middle School in Lockport, NY.
Music at Stella Niagara isn't just about the classroom or ensembles. Every Christmas the 1st through 3rd graders present a Christmas Musical while the 4th through 8th graders do a spring musical in conjunction with the Drama Club. The Montessori and kindergarten do their own Christmas production on the Stella Niagara Stage. When adding in the fall drama review "Drama 109", band and chorus concerts on December 19th and June 3rd, and the annual Arts Night (March 11th this year) it becomes quite apparent that the music department at Stella Niagara is always focused on the next "event".
As if this wasn't enough students at Stella Niagara, Montessori through 8th grade, have the opportunity to take private piano lessons on campus between the hours of 2:40-5:00 pm. Ms. Deborah Bastian and Ms. Maureen Kwiatkowski prepare their students for Stella Niagara's annual Spring Piano Recital which will be held this year on June 2nd.
I invite you to review the information listed below on all or any of these activities. Please be sure to check the "Calendar of Upcoming Events" and as always I encourage you to contact me through the school office at 754-4314 if you have any questions or concerns.
